Twelve Bones has gone down hill a bit since our last visit. Most of my food was fine, but my dad had lackluster food. The service remains the same at twelve bones; welcoming and over-the-top friendly. The restaurant doesn’t have any soul and character like the one in the arts district did. It’s just a wide open rectangular building. My brisket was great, and they gave me lots of it! It was smoky, tender, and juicy. The corn pudding is phenomenal. It has a hint of spice paired with sweet corn. So good! The Mac and cheese needs a lot of work though. It is not very cheesy and the cheese that it does have is liquid. If you look at it you can’t even tell that it has any cheese on it. My dad’s ribs were dry, and were not fall off the bone like they used to be. 12 Bones is known for their ribs. What’s going on with them?! Also, they do not have a good selection of barbecue sauces. They only have 1 sauce that is edible with brisket, and it’s tomato based. I wish they had a sweet barbecue sauce, or a tangy light on the tomato. The cornbread was tasteless. It had been sitting out with no heat lamp, was room temp, and did not have the best texture. All in all, 12 Bones was a disappointmen

The food was pretty good. Brisket sandwich was very dry. The BLT was pretty good. Tried to get a beer several times. Nobody was at bar to serve people. Checked back a couple of times. No beer. Prolly won’t come back. Looked like a great place to have lunch, but I was wrong. It’s a really nice place tho. Very, Very expensive, for sub par food.

12 Bones Smokehouse is one of our favorite local spots. The barbecue is always tender and full of unique, balanced flavor. The sides really stand out—especially the cornbread, casseroles, and greens. Everything tastes homemade and done right. Great Southern food, consistent quality, and definitely worth going back to.

The ribs were great! The brisket was good, but I have had better. The sides were incredible! Pickled Okra is my new favorite. Highly recommend!

A "religious experience" for those who love BBQ. I'm not even a BBQ, but thanks to their "Just a Taste" menu I was able to try a small portion of ribs that wasn't just right. Blueberry Chipotle? Of course I need to taste that, and the reviews are all correct - the sauce alone is perfect! I can't tell if I like the Mango Habanero more though. It's such a balanced flavor and the heat is not extreme. It's just right.
